Barely 150 days after being sworn in, as the Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has yet to breath a sigh of relief. From the barrage of lawsuits, to the great rabble-rousing of his former allies, the Imo governor has really come under attack
You may recall that on the 14th of January 2020, the Supreme Court ruled the governorship in favour of Hope Uzodinma and on the 16th of the same month he was sworn in. It is also to be recalled that Sen. Ararume and former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, played a strong role in bringing the Federal might to the controversial case.
However, as we speak Gov. Hope Uzodinma, is no more in good terms with this two politics juggernauts in Imo State, as neither Senator Okorocha’s or Senator Ararume’s boys, were given sensitive positions in Imo State and this has enraged the powers that be -who have started threatening fire and brimstone.
Even more, Governor Hope Uzodinma, set up committees to probe Rochas Okorocha, but all have failed as the now Senator Rochas Okorocha, has slammed Imo State with lawsuits stopping their investigation process.
As we speak, people of like political interests, are beginning allign to cite loopholes, in the January 14, Supreme Court declaration of Hope Uzodinma, as the Governor of Imo State.
Very recently, the 2019 Governorship candidate of the Reform and Advancement Party(RAP), Okereke Kingdom, has taken his case to a Federal High Court in Abuja, praying the Court to thoroughly interpret the Supreme Court’s Judgement of the APC 2019 primaries, where Uche Nwosu was screened out on the grounds of dual candidacy. It is of note to recall, that the Uche Nwosu, was later declared a valid candidate by the Supreme Court, hence, the candidacy of Hope Uzodinma under APC, should have been annulled.
Okereke has asked the Federal High Court, to withdraw the Certificate of Return from Hope Uzodinma, and hand it over to Hon. Emeka Ihedioha -the second runner up, in the Imo State Governorship elections.
According to some sources, who claimed anonymity, several Court cases have been lined up against Gov. Hope Uzodinma and some of these, may unseat him.
One question on the mind of every imolite is:
– What is really happening in the Douglas house?
– Do these former allies, have information that could possibly unseat Gov. Hope Uzodinma?
– Why are all of these court cases, coming up, around the same time?
Indeed, something is fishy and only time will tell.
