There is a clear indication that schools with being officially reopened in Oyo State as Governor Seyi Makinde is set to modify school resumption dates in the state.
The government of Oyo State made this known on a brief meeting with press-men stated when schools will be reopened in the state. But has now given additional information concerning the resumption of schools slated for June 29.
The new information stated that only teachers are to resume on June 29th while students in terminal classes resume a week later.
Meanwhile, the Government had earlier directed all terminal classes including Primary Six (Pry 6), Junior Secondary School Three (JSS3), and Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) to resume on June 29 ahead of preparations for their various exams.
The Federal Government had raised concern over the reopening of schools announced by the Oyo Government because of the risks associated with such a decision.
But the new adjustments to the earlier planned by the State has not been said to be as a result of such concern by the Federal Government.
According to the governor, ‘Let still wait for the directive Federal Government to give the green light for the reopening of schools across the country whenever it is safe to do so.
